Golden Text- Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate. (Amos 5:15).
Practical Points
1. Our sins bring God's wrath: those who hope to escape His punishment must repent and seek to do good (Amos 5:14-15).
2. To pressure upon God's mercy is to guarantee sorrow in the Day of Judgment (vss. 18-20).
3. Religious practice is detestable to God if it is not accompanied by just conduct (vss. 21-22).
4. Words of praise cannot offset a lack of justice (vss. 23-24).
5. Those who refuse to honor God inevitably fall into idolatry (vss. 25-26).
6. God's kindness and patience towards us does not preclude judgement if we continue in sin (vs. 27). ... See MoreSee Less

God's kindness and patience toward us does not preclude judgement if we continue in sin. God is love, but love can also be manifested in the form of Tough Love!
Give three examples of how judgement takes place in the book of Revelation.
Praise the Lord for His word!!!
Welcome and thank you for joining the Redeemer Family for Edification Hour. Our lesson is found in the book of Amos 5:14-15, 18-27, titled "A Rebuke from the Lord." Our teachers for today are Dr. Kevin A. Norvell, Sr. and Deacon Charles Watkins. It is our sincere hope that you will be blessed by today's lesson!
Today's Lesson Outline 1. A Godly Lifestyle-Amos 5:14-15 2. A Fearful Time-Amos 5:18-20 3. A Rejected Worship-Amos 5:21-24 4. A Deserved Recompense-Amos 5:25-27
Empty worship does not equate to obedience to God. That type of worship is null and void - it carries no weight with God. God calls for His people to be obedient to Him. In short our lives should be lived according to God's word. Living like a heathen 6 and a half days of the week and worshiping God a half day on Sunday does not bring glory to nor does it please God.
As God's people (Christians) we are to do good, look for the good, hate those things that are evil, stay away from and not practice evil and establish judicial systems that are based on justice for all. In all this, we may be shunned, but God is with us. His grace is extended to us because we are doing His will as we face the challenges this life brings. No matter how good the ungodly make look and no matter how selfish pride may be so alluring that we want to follow our own way, we are to stay the course and remember safety and peace are with God alone. Only in God is there hope for humanity.
Thank you for joining our Sunday School broadcast. We ask that you please share this message on your Facebook and other social media pages. Because, it is our responsibility to let a dying world know that Jesus is real and He's coming back soon for all who believe. You are invited to join us in person at our new location: 107 Texas St. Lancaster, Tx. 75146 for our Sunday morning worship at 9:00 a.m. , followed by Sunday School (Edification Hour) at 10:45 a.m., concluding with our afternoon service (Table Talk) at 12:15 p.m. Again, we are the Redeemed and we pray our services reflect the love and adoration we have for the Lord and his people. Until tomorrow, Be Blessed, Be Safe, and Be Sure to Share Jesus with Somebody Else!
If you don't know the Savior Jesus Christ, it's not to late. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." If you believe this today, If you believe in His Death, Burial, and Resurrection-you will be saved. Jesus is coming back for His church - we (those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior) are the Church. If you desire to have a relationship with the Father and experience eternal life with Him, accept His Son today.
